Americans have printed bionic ear

Scientists at Princeton University in the United States with the help of 3D technology printed silicone ear implanted with bovine cells with silver particles that form a helical antenna, writes The Daily Mail.

Implanted in the bionic ear mechanism can capture signals that the ear interprets as sound.

Immediately after printing 3D-ear soft and transparent. Then it within 10 weeks grown in a petri dish, giving the cells multiply so that was formed around the antenna firmer flesh-colored fabric.

However, the invention of Princeton researchers can not replace the ear now, but will study in detail the interaction of electronics with bionic materials.

To demonstrate the radio ear scientists used a radio signal transmitting Fur Elise by Beethoven. Couple grown ears attached via electrodes and wires to transmit a signal to the column, while music was clear and without hindrance.

According to the researchers, further development in this area will lead to the creation of synthetic substitutes for natural human functions, as well as to the creation of digital "sixth" sense.
